Hickory Nut Gap Farm Field trip!

Addison took her first field trip ever yesterday and we went to Hickory Nut Gap Farm.

She was stoked. Last week one of the teacher's asked if I could come along and help with the kids. I said sure! They loaded 12 kids and 12 car seats into the church bus and hit the road. I am pretty sure that Addison's favorite part was riding on the bus. I followed behind. Ella Kate was the same way with her kindergarten field trip...her fave part was riding the big cheese!

The kids saw a beehive and the bees making honey. They got to taste all of the apples they have in their orchard. They read an apple picking book to them. Then we took a tour and saw chickens, goats, cows, miniature horses, and two 600lb pigs with piglets. Then they got to slide on a 36" corrugated slide. They played on a "spider web." I think the kids liked the open barn play area the best! They had hay bales for jumping, a hay maze, and a corn box (sand box). Addison really enjoyed the corn box...she had corn in all sorts of places! After playing the kids had a picnic lunch. Fun was had by all!

Needless to say...she was exhausted. I am not sure how she will manage to stay on a twin bed!
