Then we got a cat.

We got home from Georgia, unpacked and got back in the car and drove to Collierville Animal shelter to visit this little kitten I stalked on the internet.

We arrived at the shelter and the lady showed us all the cats and talked about them. We told them we were interested in a kitten and we went back into the kitten cage and she showed us some more and I saw her. Beatrice. She was one wild monkey. We had narrowed it down to Beatrice and another kitten. I knew I wanted Beatrice. I have been wanting a black and white (tuxedo cat) for years. Beatrice had a brother, all black, and they wanted them to go home in pairs. I told them we just wanted the girl, and she said she would go ask. Luckily they said yes.

Allows me to introduce to you, our newest addition, and lap cat...

Moonpie.

Moonpie had big paws to fill. She has been amazing. When we got home with her, she was a wild hair. Ran all over the place checking it out. She puffed up sideways at herself in the mirror. The second day she didn't come out of our bathroom. She stayed in her cage. She did sleep with Michael and I the whole night, I even had to pick her up and put her in her litter box so she could go. For about 2 days she was shy. The third day, the cat came out of the bag. Buck wild. Once she investigated her new home, she started to chill. She is a lap cat, she sleeps with us...She sleeps on our necks, backs, sides. I am moving her around throughout the night. I love it. She also plays fetch with balls. She is awesome! I can't stop taking pictures of her! 

I am not sure if this was the right video or not...I have one of her purring loudly. She will start purring if you talk to her.

She is a foodie. Her favorites are rice cakes and cheddar cheese. She begs.
