Chocolatey Claire: Ella Kate's Second Birthday

Sickly 2 yr. old!

Well, for some reason or another we can't beat this cold that has been lingering off and on for a month. We are sick one week, well the next, and then sick again. Last Sunday night Ella Kate started sneezing something fierce. Come Monday and Tuesday the drainage was back and then Wednesday and Thursday it drained down in her chest and she has felt miserable all of this week. She managed to have a good time for her party...we wrapped it up and I had her napping by 12 and she slept for almost 4 solid hours. New Years Eve night involved alot of late night rocking and same yesterday. By 5:00 yesterday, she was a mess. We rocked for an hour and then took a bath and she was was asleep by 6:15. Due to all her nose wiping, sloppy kisses, and wanting to put things in our mouths, I have a bad cold and sore throat and Michael said his throat hurt this morning...neither of us are as bad as EK....but anyway...Here is the Birthday Girl waking up New Years Eve Morning...

Michael made the cake Wednesday night and I whipped out most of the food. The cake turned out well...I think Michael might have discovered a new talent!

She was excited once again to open presents, but quickly lost interest in it. She got more loot and our house is getting extremely small! Michael and I gave her a kinda "crafty" birthday, she got an easel, and a ton of craft supplies, and I made her a felt board before Christmas and she loves it! I made some shapes, colors, ABC's, numbers, and a "winter scene" and will do various scenes throughout the year.

She got books, a broom, a sweater knitted by her Granny, blocks, DVDs, PJ's, and her big girl bed bedspread!

This year she had no interest in the cake....she is much more of an ice cream girl like her mom and Aunt Holly. She doesn't really like to get dirty or have things on her hands, so she didn't really dive into it this year!
